Behind the Scenes as a wedding cake baker and friend of the planner…The day, June 5, 2024, started pretty early since my assistant and I drove to Whitestone Reserve in Austell from Flowery Branch, Georgia. We had the faux cake in the car and it stayed upright until we turned onto the final road of the trip. Isn’t that the way it always goes? Of course the cake was fine and I was able to stack it back up. I am glad I was there for the day so I could help anywhere needed. We were able to help steam the drapes out front, move the seating to and from the ceremony area around sprinkling rain, help set up the floral centerpieces on the tables, sweep over and over again, and just be an extra set of hands as required.
I loved the theme, the color palette, the design, and the planner. You In Luxe had a vision and was able to execute it beautifully. I would recommend Destiny to anyone needing someone to manage their special gathering. I have worked with her in many situations and she is always able to solve any problem that may come up without missing a beat.
The setting with the aisle for the ceremony was set up beautifully with comfy outdoor furniture and plush pillows, aisle flower arrangements, candles, and the arch at the front. It was so beautiful both in the daytime and at sunset. There was a tent with a picnic for two set up, a pre ceremony tea, beautiful reception area with chandeliers, a champagne tower, delicious food, cookies, gorgeous table settings and stationary, and of course the wedding cake. There was even a polo match projected onto the wall and polo horses with riders! I am very excited to work at the venue, Whitestone Reserve, again in the future. You have to see the bridal suite! The wedding cake was covered in white fondant with black fondant accents, a polo horse and rider, and mallets, and a textured tier made from edible wafer paper. How do you like how the lights from Illuminating Design make the cake look? Every time I looked at it the lighting was so interesting and different. So thankful Boarding Pass Productions got this short video of the cake and candles!
